What affects the price of sofa cleaning?

The price varies by fabric type, and the size and condition of the sofas or carpets. Beyond that, there are cases where a surcharge applies — for apartments on the 3rd floor or above, after water or fire damage, or for especially tough dirt such as urine stains, vomit, pet hair, oil stains or paint.

Additional factors: the number of seats, the number of cushions, the condition of the furniture, and the type of upholstery it's made of. Services beyond regular cleaning — such as fire/water damage treatment, removing tough oil stains, or odor-neutralizing treatment — are priced separately.

How to lower the cleaning price

Especially around the holidays, it's worth booking sofa cleaning as early as possible to save on price. Another tip: maintain your furniture at home as much as possible, so it doesn't get dirty enough to trigger a surcharge.

If something spills on your sofa, it's best to book a cleaning as soon as possible rather than letting the stain soak in and dry.

Impala fabric sofa cleaning — price

Impala-fabric sofas are marketed as stain-repellent fabric — synthetic fabrics coated with a protective layer right at the factory. Cleaning Impala-fabric sofas usually costs more than other sofas, since the fabric requires special equipment and materials to clean it thoroughly without causing damage.

Leather sofa cleaning — price

Unlike fabric sofa cleaning, leather sofa cleaning is done by hand, without machinery to ease the work — so it requires significantly more physical effort from the professional. Leather sofa cleaning typically costs between ₪100 and ₪150 per seat, including a leather-conditioning treatment at the end of the job.

Cotton-fabric sofa cleaning — price

Cleaning cotton fabric is considered the biggest challenge for sofa cleaners, especially for anyone who doesn't truly know how to do professional cleaning. To avoid damage such as fabric darkening, the sofas must be cleaned with special materials — which is why some companies prefer to turn down such jobs, while others charge a somewhat higher price due to the complexity.

Carpet cleaning — price

Carpet cleaning price is affected by the carpet's size, type and condition. Cleaning a carpet at your home will always be cheaper than cleaning it at a facility, since you save on transport costs — but not every carpet can be cleaned at home, and some require special facility treatment.

The cleaning market in Israel is completely unregulated, so when you hire a professional you're exposed to very different service levels and a wide price range — some professionals will charge ₪350 for a given job, and others will ask ₪900 for the exact same job. We recommend shopping around before you let a professional into your home.

The answer to "should I go with the cheap option" is no — and neither should you automatically pick the most expensive quote, because not all that glitters is gold. There are genuine professionals in the market who charge a fair price of around ₪500 for sofa cleaning, and who arrive with professional equipment and cleaning materials made specifically for upholstery and carpets.

If you contact a professional company, ask them:

Talk to two or three companies, and choose the one whose answers satisfy you the most. Good luck — and remember, we at Zeus Clean are always here for you.
