Removing Mold Stains from Upholstery

Removing mold stains from upholstery is definitely a difficult task, and in most cases nearly impossible for the average consumer to handle alone.

Even

cleaning companies that supposedly specialize in this field don't always manage to solve problems of this kind.

Mold can appear on upholstery due to damp storage, flooding after heavy rain, air conditioner leaks, damp walls, unprofessional cleaning, or sloppy operators who don't vacuum sofas properly at the end of the job…

Yes, you read that right — it happens to us quite often that customers call us in to fix the damage caused by another company's careless cleaning job.

Not everyone in this field is a true professional, since the market is flooded with players, and those shoddy operators give the whole industry a bad name!

They show up to clean, use huge amounts of water, and afterward don't bother to properly extract it from the sofa — or they simply don't own the right equipment.

A few months ago, a customer contacted us after ordering upholstery cleaning for his car. At the end of the job, he noticed everything was still soaking wet, asked the technician what to do, and was simply told everything was fine and to close up the car.

A very serious mistake! We always advise our customers to let the vehicle air out by opening the windows, doors, or even running the air conditioning on ventilation mode.

That same customer flew abroad, and three days later came home to find his car reeking, with mold growing at an extreme rate!

Everything — and we mean everything — was simply covered in a layer of mold, and as for the smell, it's better we don't even describe it!

Naturally, the customer received fast, thorough service from us that very same day.

We knew that if we delayed, the chances of saving the upholstery would shrink significantly.

After about two hours of painstaking work, we managed to remove all the mold from every seat and carpet.

Afterward, over the course of about another hour, we performed a thorough rinse with clean water and a bacteria-neutralizing agent that also removes unpleasant odors like mold, dampness, and so on.

So if an accident happens, don't think twice — call a professional who provides mold stain removal for upholstery.

Keep in mind that mold is a contaminant that can also cause permanent, irreversible marks.

That means a professional will find the source of the problem, clean it, and treat the unpleasant odors — but if the stains have been sitting on the upholstery for days or weeks, it may not be possible to remove them completely, since they cause damage to the appearance that simply cannot be undone.

At Zeus Clean, we specialize in cleaning sofas, carpets, mattresses, and car upholstery.

We provide this service to private and business customers alike, throughout the Shfela, central Israel, and the Sharon region.
